Sustainability and the Carbon Capture & Sustainable Farming Group

In 2021, Camgrain formed the Sustainability committee, with Non-Exec Director, Jacqui Green, as Chairperson. This committee comprises a number of progressive agriculture ambassador members ; David White, John Jefferies, Adam Driver and Sir Jim Paice to name a few.

It’s priority, is to review (and if appropriate, recommend)

  • The best-in-class measurement tools
  • Environmental schemes/initiatives
  • Environmental measures on farm

It has also been asked to keep updated on

  • Global initiatives
  • Government scheme news
  • Any other relevant insights.

In reporting back, the committee has been asked to ensure we are aligned closely with our marketing partners and our key end customers such as Nestle.

Camgrain Sustainability Pilot Scheme:

We have now pulled together a small group of members who were interested in participating in a two year pilot project. Year one would predominantly be about measuring and establishing a baseline, and year two introducing some new interventions or practices in order to demonstrate improvements to the baseline. Some metrics are probably already being measured, others will require a bit of support to measure.
