Grain store Operative at Stratford, part of a small team of 4 external operatives


How do you fit into that team?

I help with the day to day running of the store and the intake of OSR into the Yelo crush plant


How long have you been at Camgrain?

4 years


What is your career history to date? This should be a brief paragraph describing your previous role(s) before joining Camgrain, plus details of any higher education (e.g. degree studied)

My past roles have included warehouse operative working up to warehouse manager and work as a labourer on building sites.


What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

Assist the store supervisor in keeping the store areas clean, loading vehicles, regular quality checks on product in store and running the OSR intake pit for the Yelo crush


What do you do in your role that people may not know about or realise?

Part of my job role while covering the OSR intake pit is to traffic manage all of Yelo’s vehicles which can be 30+ a day.


What do you enjoy about your job? What inspires you in your role?

I enjoy learning new tasks and the opportunity to take on more responsibility. I like to see a good job completed.


What are the challenges within your job?

Ensuring the Yelo crush receives the OSR into silo within specification continually.


What drew you to apply for a role at Camgrain?

I wanted a new challenge in a completely new environment/industry which I had not experienced before.


How has Camgrain changed in your time with the company?

There have been many improvements within Health & safety over the last few years, with the opportunity to attend courses.


What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family and grandchildren, playing golf and DIY around the house and garden.


Is there anything about you people might not know? A fun or interesting fact about yourself (e.g. you swam the English Channel for charity)

I am a qualified painter and decorator
